Cleanliness
๐จโ๐ฉโ๐ง For EveryoneSwachh Bharat starts with you, right now
India has a serious public cleanliness problem. Not because we lack government schemes, but because too many of us have the habit of "let someone else clean it." That habit must change.
๐ Home & Surroundings
Segregate waste โ wet waste in green bin, dry waste in blue bin
Why: Segregated waste can be composted or recycled. Mixed waste goes to landfill.
Sweep outside your home daily
Why: If every household keeps their 2 metres clean, the entire street is clean.
Dispose of old medicine, batteries, and electronics at designated points
Why: These contain toxic chemicals that contaminate soil and water.
Compost kitchen waste if you have space
Why: It reduces garbage and creates free fertilizer for plants.
Don't throw garbage on the road or in front of others' homes
Why: Garbage stays, breeds mosquitoes, and makes everyone sick.
Don't burn garbage in open spaces
Why: Burning plastic releases carcinogens that cause cancer and lung disease.
Don't dump old furniture or tyres on empty plots
Why: These become breeding grounds for mosquitoes and rodents.
๐ Real Life Example
"In a Mumbai neighbourhood, 40 families kept small baskets near their doors instead of throwing wrappers on the road. In 3 months, their lane won the "cleanest street" award from the municipal corporation."
Remember
"Garbage has no legs. You put it there. You take it to the bin."
