Public Places

๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿ‘ง For Everyone

How to behave when you are outside your home

Public places belong to everyone โ€” roads, parks, markets, buses, trains, temples, hospitals. How we behave in these spaces tells a lot about our character.

๐Ÿ›ฃ๏ธ Roads & Footpaths

โœ… DO

Walk on the footpath, not on the road

Why: Roads are for vehicles. Walking on the road puts your life at risk.

Use zebra crossings to cross the road

Why: Vehicles slow down at zebra crossings. Crossing randomly is dangerous.

Wait for the green signal before crossing

Why: Traffic signals create order and save lives.

Keep to the left while walking in a crowd

Why: Following a side prevents collisions and confusion.

Make way for emergency vehicles โ€” ambulance, fire engine, police

Why: Someone's life may depend on those extra seconds.

โŒ DON'T

Don't spit on the road or footpath

Why: Saliva spreads infections like TB. It makes the road filthy for everyone.

Don't throw garbage on the road

Why: Garbage blocks drains and causes flooding. It spreads diseases.

Don't walk while staring at your phone

Why: You could walk into traffic, potholes, or other people.

Don't block the footpath by standing in large groups

Why: Others need to pass. Blocking forces them onto the road.

Don't urinate on walls or in open spaces

Why: It spreads disease and shows complete disrespect to public spaces.

๐Ÿ“– Real Life Example

"Raju was in a hurry and crossed the road at a random point. A speeding bike barely missed him. Had he used the zebra crossing 50 metres away, both he and the biker would have been safe."

๐Ÿ’›

Remember

"The road is not yours alone โ€” share it responsibly."
